Yogance: Movement Therapy
28. March – 2. April
Yogance is a movement therapy art. Prepare to move your way through fear, dance free into your light and breath soundly with the rhythm of your soul. BEYOUTIFUL!
DAY ONE (March 28, 2017 : 13.15- 15.15 // 15.45 -17.45):
Proper foundation is the key to a safe, long and fulfilling practice. We will start from the basics, talking alignment, technique, breath to movement and the understanding of an effective warm up and cool down. We’ll learn a basic Yogance flow introducing “non-traditional” transitions between basic foundational postures. Day one is all about the foundation of where movement comes from using three key words: EFFECTIVE, SAFE, EFFICIENT.
DAY TWO (March 29th, 2017: 13.15- 15.15 // 15.45 -17.15)
ChoreYOGAphy & FREEstyle
Recapping and building on what we learned day one. Yogance flow will be based on more complex transitions and beginner - intermediate postures. Second half of class introduces the moving free aspect of the Yogance practice, taking our expression off the mat. We will begin playing with spacial awareness and moving free off the safety and confines of the yoga mat.
DAY THREE (March 30th 2017: 13.15- 15.15 // 16.00 -18.30)
Now that we have more of an idea how Yogance moves and breathes, we will discuss transitions and sequencing. Adding on to the day 2 Yogance sequence, executing a longer routine, will allow us to work with memory and endurance as well. “Off the mat” practice will take us into fun movement exercises that feed the creative mind and explore self-expression and individuality. Day three is all about being BEYOUtiful!
DAY FOUR (March 31, 2017: 13.15- 15.15 // 16.15 -18.15)
CONNECTION & TEAMWORK
In Day 3 we explored self love and self expression, so day four will start looking at connecting with others through energy, movement and breath. We will Yogance and play “off the mat” with all sorts of exploratory teamwork/connection exercises.
DAY FIVE (April 1, 2017: 12.00 – 14.00 // 15.00 – 17.00)
EXPLORING YOUR OWN VOICE
Time to let go of our security blankets and step out of the comfort zone to explore our own YOUnique voices. We will build our own Yogances and teach them to the class. The freestyle part of the class will also focus on stepping outside of the box. Prepare to search further into the unknown and LET GO! It is only then that we truly begin to learn deeper about ourselves to create the change we desire to be better.
DAY 6 (April 2, 2017: 12.00 – 14.00 // 15.00 – 17.00)
FACING OUR FEARS
Fear is what holds us back in life, so today we choose to look fear in the face and decide its time to become friends. We will be recapping on everything we learnedthroughout our time together and looking back on anything that might have halted the process of MOVING FREE along the way.
