What is yoga?

Life to me is all about balance. Work-Freetime / Responsibilities-Carelessness / Discipline-Fun etc. Whether you're working hard, taking care of a loved one or studying to improve the world, we should never forget to take care of ourselves and sometimes let go of our "should/must/need do's". I want to be myself and do what I love without hesitation or justification. We need to find the perfect balance between "should's" and "want's" .
“Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one's being, from bodily health to self realization. Yoga means union - the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul. Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day to day life and endows skill in the performance of one's actions.” - B.K.S. Iyengar
Yoga helps me to find my inner peace and calmness. It also gives my body the strength and ability to do things I never dared dreaming of. Yoga to me is so much more than just the asanas. Through Yoga I found the trust in myself, which led me to believe I can achieve anything. It gives me energy and creativity and it helps me, to become the best version of myself. I no longer struggle to find out what I want or how I can do all the "should's" and "want's". Through Yoga I find the balance between these tasks.
Of course my life is not a row of perfect days, rainbows and unicorns. I 've been through rough times and I know some more will come. But with the help of Yoga, I find the strength to handle anything and still be positive. I know that with Yoga I can live a happy, creative and most of all, balanced life! This is what Yoga to me is all about.
