Meditation made easy: 3 hour Workshop with Uma

Join Uma for a journey into meditation and experience how easy, luxurious and accessible integrating this powerful healing tool can be in your daily life. Meditation has been proven to improve mental, emotional and physical health and is a natural and instinctual state that can arise spontaneously or from refined and purposeful attention. Everyone has the ability to meditate and we can each access the state in an individual way.

In this workshop we will explore ways to cultivate more sensuality, spaciousness and rejuvenation on and off your mat. There are a set of skills that you can learn that allow meditation to be a natural part of your daily life. The skills are similar to that of loving anyone or anything – ways of paying attention that open your being to greater connection, intimacy, wonder and joy.

We will go over various techniques that are simple and enjoyable – meditations with breathing, with sound, with vision, motion, touch, vocalisation, smell and even taste.

These approaches originate from the classical yoga text, the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra and are inspired by the work of Lorin Roche, one of Uma's primary inspirations and teachers...

"Meditation is the practice of tending to the song of life flowing through the body - attending, delighting in, tuning ourselves to this magical universe in which we live, and preparing ourselves to live more fully. “

Date & Time: Sunday 10. September, 10am - 1pm
Location: schwarzescafé LUMA / Westbau, Limmatstr. 270, Kreis 5 ZH

About Uma Elizabeth Knight

Known for her kindness and sensitivity, in her yoga classes she offers alignment-based, heart-centred asana with a focus on sensual and conscious movement; on intention, attention and breath connection. Usually there is the opportunity to experience the more subtle aspects of the practice alongside traditional postures, through the exploration of Pranayama, Mudra, Mantra and body bio-mechanics. Overall, you can expect to slow down, to flow with rhythmic and thoughtful sequencing, and to be invited into feeling – via words, silence, or a soulful playlist.

Since leaving her corporate job at the BBC and a career as a Sound Engineer, she has spent the last years living, studying and teaching around the world – pouring herself into the healing arts, the path of practice and being in service to community. Her background of studentship includes Yoga Alliance, 500 hour Anusara-inspired trainings and additional immersions, certification, investigation and application of Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Kids & Trauma Outreach Yoga, Tantra, Ayurveda, Sufism, Qi Gong, Shamanism, Usui Reiki (Master Level), NVC (Non-violent communication), Sacred Dance, Sound healing and Feminine Spirituality.
