Pranayama & Sound Bath

49.00

You can expect a short Pranayama practice to slow down and de-stress, followed by a long Gong Bath.

The goal of this short practice is to tune-in and raise your prana (energy). During the first part we stimulate our nervous system with a variety of carefully selected Pranayama practices. In the second part we let you dive into a trans-like state facilitated by Musician and Yoga Teacher Leo Cosendai (UK / CH) with the deep vibrations of the Gong.

Gong bath meditation (also called Sound Bath), consists of laying down in Savasana whilst a Gong is being played. It is a holistic and yogic practice which helps to explore other limbs of Yoga, like Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Kevalya Samādhi. The gong also enables the brain to become efficient in producing Theta and Delta waves, which are produced by the brain during deep sleep.

“Der Sound und die Schwingungen erzeugen ein einmaliges Erlebnis, das nur schwer in Worte zu fassen ist. Absolut empfehlenswert!”
- Beate, took part in the Sound Bath class in December 2016 with Leo

Leo will be available for one to one therapies (Auricular Acupuncture, Sound healing, Reflexology, Energy work and Theatrical Therapy Prescription).

About the Gong Bath

Gong bath meditation, an increasingly popular practice which consists of laying down in Savasana whilst a Gong is being played, washing its multi-harmonic tones over your entire body. It is a holistic and yogic practice which helps to explore other limbs of Yoga such as pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and kevalya samādhi.

It helps one to burn up their emotional history and karmic blockages. So much more than just an old musical instrument, the Gong produces harmonic and dissonant tones which give the individual the opportunity to experience altered states of consciousness, where the mind is totally aligned with the body.

From a physical point of view, a gong “bath” as we call it, is ideal for clearing nerve-endings and for re-establishing a healthy relationship between the parasympathetic (ruled by sound) and sympathetic nervous system (ruled by vision). The gong also enables the brain to become efficient in producing Theta and Delta waves, which are produced by the brain during deep sleep and trance-like states. Just like the tones it produces, the experience it induces is different every time.

About Leo Cosendai (UK/CH)

Leo is a Pranayama Hatha Kriya Yoga teacher and a Gong bath facilitator from Switzerland. He has trained with Yogi Ashokananda and learned the way of the Gong with Don Conreaux. He has taught extensively across the world and is a leading figure within the sphere of Sound healing and Yoga.

Working from the inside out, Leo’s sessions are an opportunity for you to experience a series of "cascade like reactions" to the sounds coming from his gongs and overtone singing, and the yoga taught to him by a master of tantra.

Therapies

Leo will be available for one to one therapies (Auricular Acupuncture, Sound healing, Reflexology, Energy work and Theatrical Therapy Prescription). – to book a 1-to-1, please contact Deddou in advance –

Within each of his healing and counselling sessions, Leo’s gentle and open nature allows him to hold a space in which you can ease into a state of peace, joy and stillness.

Sound therapy works intuitively to discover, uncover and clear blockages using vibrational frequencies. Each cell in the body communicates and participates in the vibrational orchestra that co-creates every level of one’s being. By connecting at a cellular level it allows sound and colour frequencies to align your well being in a universal healthy rhythms, bringing you into a state of flow that facilitates deep healing in a profound way that can be gently integrated.

Auricular Acupuncture is a specialised complementary therapy based upon the ancient Chinese practice of acupuncture. Physical, emotional and mental conditions can be treated by stimulating points on the ear with small and thin needles.

Wether it is stress, attention span deficit or early exhaustion and lack of productivity, Leo's auricular acupuncture treatments help his clients achieve a tremendous amount of relaxation in a very short period of time. The client can sit on his chair at his desk and simply close his eyes for 5 minutes during the needles insertion. Afterwards, people feel rejuvenated, aware/concentrated and creative/inventive.

Reflexology involves the application of pressure to the feet and hands based on a system of zones and reflex areas that purportedly reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work effects a physical and psychological change.

Theatrical Therapy prescription consists in Leo hearing a client out (in detail) about what their history and what they are going through in present day. After consultation, he sends them a theatrical performance act to perform- sending a message to their subconscious mind, which works on images and feelings rather than words.

JMT jaw release is a type of cranial sacral therapy which focuses on the jaw in order to protect the teeth and overall well being through the vagus nerve being free of secondary tension.
