What is mindfulness and how can you bring it into your daily life
„Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.“
2 easy tips to bring more mindfulness in your everyday life:
1. Do one thing at a time. We have a tendency to aim for multi-tasking, to get more things done at the same time. However, multi-tasking doesn’t necessarily make us more efficient. It mostly makes our mind more busy, distracted and less focused. Therefore: Single-task, don’t multi-task.
When you’re making tea, just make tea. When you’re writing something, just focus on writing. When you’re taking a bath, just bathe.
2. Spend at least 5 minutes per day doing nothing. Just sit in silence. Slow down, become aware of your thoughts. Focus on your breathing deeply into your belly. Open your senses and notice the world around you. Become comfortable with the silence and stillness & actively rest just for 5 minutes every day.

About the Teacher: Deddou Burkhard
After completing her first of many Yoga Teacher Trainings in New York, Deddou Burkhard started her own yoga classes under the label POP UP YOGA in Switzerland in 2012.
Today Deddou is known as a creative and passionate yoga teacher (800h YTT) in the local yoga community. She teaches yoga, meditation and mindfulness under the label POP UP YOGA in and around Zürich. In addition she has been collaborating with health-related brands such as Kiehl’s, Alnatura Schweiz, tibits AG, Coopzeitung, Giardino Hotel Group and the lifestyle expo Livelife. In order to make yoga more accessible to the general public Deddou launched an ONLINE YOGA SCHOOL in early 2018 and is the head-teacher and founder of a 250h Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training based in Zürich.
